Zeno

Gesso, oil and charcoal painted on fraying raw canvas, the powdery Zeno series evoke a mesmerizing, dream like mist.

Auckland, 2023

As the Zeno paradox challenging the concept of motion and the nature of space and time, the large diptyque, painted with gesso, diluted oil and chalk pigments, creates a space of ethereal colours and soft, diffused edges. Whilst the misty landscape appears to be veiled in a delicate, otherworldly atmosphere, the scale creates a mesmerizing and haunted invitation to lose oneself in its enchanted depths. The boundaries between conscious and subconscious blur, leaving a lingering sense of wonder and intrigue.
